website animation and game for my fashion idea i meant 2 put on yesterday
Fashion ideas.
Website
My website would contain details of how fashion has evolved with the stereotypical scenarios and pressures to make people look good. I would show how beauty is not everything. I would also show how people of all ages are affected by the way they look and the way the media portray people and the way they look.
Game
As for my game I was thinking about having a game which is educational to people. Teaches you to learn that beauty is not everything. If being based in the street as you are walking along you can meet different people for example Chavs, Goths etc. When walking by these people you see what they are thinking and what people are perceiving them as. You get to see the way people are stereotyped etc.
Animation
In my animation I was thinking about create a catwalk showing the different models modelling different outfits. I was thinking about having a “fatter” model on the catwalk as well as the way models are stereotyped is to have models who are skinny showcasing the outfits. I could also have a range of maybe emos’s chavs etc to dress the way they are being stereotyped.

My main FMP idea: FASHION
My Main Idea
Fashion
· My Ideas for what brought me to fashion is the fact that I have a major passion for it. Fashion is a major part of me and my life.
· I wanted to do my FMP based on something that I will enjoy and something that I have a passion for. Fashion is something that I love I love to shop and find the new season trends that are out as well as accessories to accompany it.
· Fashion is who I am it makes me “ME”! Fashion makes a statement it reflects on your personality. That makes me who I am. Fashion is a big industry that influences most people.
· I knew what I wanted to do as soon as I was given my summer project that I wanted to do fashion because it is something that was of interest to me. It was something I knew that I would never get bored with.
· I thought of other ideas but I have a way that I can link my ideas in with my Main fashion idea for example:
· Life’s pressures helps you gain insight into people as they feel pressures to look good and look like someone else so they feel better there is a pressure on most people to be skinny because they want to look and feel good.
· Stereotyping is a major part as people are stereotyped about the way they dress and the way that they are perceived by people. You are who you are but just by the way you dress or act you are stereotyped for it.
· I was also thinking about making an outfit which has a touch of flair from the 80s to now and also add the futuristic flair to it to and display it on a mannequin. I not too sure what to have yet but I am thinking up ideas with my mum as she has a creative flair and makes things for weddings and corporate events so she has a few ideas to.
My FMP Ideas
Fashion is a major part of my life!!
My fashion shows off me and the type of person I am and it stereotypes you and brings out the person you are.
Ideas
With Fashion I thought of all kinds of ideas.
Fashion from the 80's to our current day came to mind straight away. You then get to see how clothing have changed and different items have evolved into something better which is now been put back into fashion basically recreated.
I also thought about a mannequin to display the most unique outfit throughout the time. Because I had ideas about creating an outfit I thought about an interactive game along the catwalk with different styles of clothes from 80's to the present. So u get to look throughout the different era's. I could also have a little artifact about models, sizes and dieting.
(Also the affect on everyday people).
Fashion has evolved so much over the different decades. Victorian times women wore basques and dresses with loads of net underneath and even an underskirt. Women wore clothes in them times which were so uncomfortable but looked good. Dresses were done up and pulled to be tightened to keep your outfit in place. Men wore suits with frills on their shirts and wigs to make them look important.
In around about the 50's and 60's women were dressing very stylish and sophisticated. Big pearls were worn as a statement piece. moving onwards to the 80's it was the craze of big hair statement jewellery and bright bold colourful clothes. leggings and jumpsuits were very popular also. the 80's was all about being creative.
Clothing just keeps on evolving. Clothing from the past is revamped into something new for that era. at the moment clothing now is coming out with all retro colour's and styles and has authentic and unique looks to the item of clothing. clothing from the past are also coming back but are remade in a different way. the fashion world keeps evolving each and every year.
Stereo typing
With stereotyping I was not to sure what to display about the way people are judged or treated. Just because of their origin/ colour/ race/ the way they are dressed etc.
stereotyping is perceived in all different ways. Stereotyping is something that crosses my mind because when I was at high school I was a popular person and at high school it is quite "Bitchy". Everyone at high school judged everyone no matter what. There would be different circles. People were stereotyped as being a goth, a sweaty, looking or acting like a freak, acting or looking weird, or people who got bullied.
I think that at a school it shows different stereotypical scenarios of different people. I must admit though, when I first started college I felt really out of place I was around people who I would never of necessarily bothered with if I was still at school. By being in college you get to grow up a lot more and not be so judgemental of people as you get to communicate with people who you would not of before and also get to no them.
Being in high school you would always look and think, that person will be pregnant at 16, that person will become a person on the dole, that person will do well etc. When basically that is a part of stereotyping because you are also judging.
Ideas
One of my ideas was to perhaps make a little video stating different types of stereotypical issues of how people are perceived.
I was also thinking about making a game set in a high school that you could play and come across people stereotyping and add a conclusion of why they are being stereotyped etc.
Past Present and future!
On this subject there is so much to talk about i don't know where to begin.
stereotyping has been a major part of life itself. People are very stereotypical and judgmental even today it still exists. For example I use to be very stereotypical until I came to college. I felt as if i didn't belong in my college class as they were people I would of never bothered with before. By being at college it has helped me become less judgemental and stereotypical of people. Know I try to get to know people first before casting judgments.
People were very stereotypical and racist many years ago. In the 60's racism was all around. "White people" were very racist and also attacked "Black people". Their were mobs created such as the well known Klu Klux Klang who did brutal things such as burn black people to death, they took part in horrific things. Black and White people were segregated from each other, their were even areas which stated whites only or black only. Places for white people looked nice and presentable whereas places for black people were dirty and looked scruffy and horrible making you feel degrading.
Martin Luther King stepped in on the civil rights movement and gave his famous speech "I have a dream". This helped keep people's spirits up and helped them remain strong. People had someone to look up to and believe in.
Micheal Jackson was the first black child to make it big with both races. Micheal Jackson made it big with his brothers in the Jackson 5 and was even bigger when he went solo. Micheal made it worldwide with all different races.
today people and children are still stereotypical and judgmental. People get put into different categories such as Chav, Emo's etc. the subculture has changed and its making it harder for people to be themselves as they are already being tarred with everybody else (basically tarred with the same brush).
I think it will carry on like this in the future as its hard for people and even youngsters to be themselves and fit in. Peer pressure takes a major part in their life as young adults grow up. I think it will end up running as a cycle through each generation.
Life's Pressure
Life's pressures take place in every body's life. Everybody has worries of their own to cope and deal with. I think this is important to anyone and everyone. I have pressures in my life, two of which are to succeed in life and do well, being able to drive etc.
There are all different pressures to people of all ages, older people hace worries about their house or car and bills etc. Some teenage pressures are to do good and not get pregnant at a young age, do good for themselves. Parents pressures are so there child does not fall into the wrong crowd of people, do good at school and get good grades etc.
Ideas
to be ohnest when it came to ideas of lifes pressures i really didnt know what to do. so that is where i became stuck.
Past Present and future!
Before the stresses were left to a man as it was a mans job to deal with the strain of things. Families would have a man of the house who took care of everything. The man was the back bone in his family. Men were made out to be more important and had a lot more authority over women, they were the ones with far more control. Men would stress to work hard and provide for their families and the do the best for them.
Today stresses are shared out equally between men and women as before it was only men allowed to work. Now we have stresses such as the recession taking place, people loosing their jobs and people not spending enough time with their families as their busy working or doing other things. We are living in a time where everybody is sharng that pressure. Adults have their worries of household billss and their jobs etc whereas Teenagers have their stresses of exams, peer pressure, family etc. Everyone is equal and there are a lot more independant women.
Men and women have seemed to of switched roles and their are a lot more women becomming the boss.
I think it will continue this way for the future, more women being boss and taking control. everyone has their own pressures to deal with and everyone plays a part in lifes prssures that we face.
